How to play roulette
Well, it is really very simple: You just place your bet on the number you want to bet on and then see what number the little white ball lands on in the roulette. If you placed your bet on the winning number, you will win, if not you will lose your bet.
There is a bit more to it though as you can choose to bet on not only one number but a group of numbers. The most famous roulette bet is either on red or black, meaning that you are betting on either all the black numbers or all the red numbers. As you can see on the roulette wheel there are 18 red numbers and 18 black numbers, so if you, for example, bet on red and the winning number is 7 (red), you win!
So why not just bet on red or black all the time? Because your winnings are also paid out according to how many numbers you bet on. If you bet on all the red numbers you will only get your money back 2 to 1, while if you bet on only one number and win you will get your money back 36 to 1.
That all-important Green “0”
You might notice that the roulette wheel has a green number 0 on it. On some wheels you might also notice the green number 00. This number is basically designed for the house (the bitcoin casino) to have an edge in the game.
Let’s say again that you only bet on red numbers and your friend bets on the black numbers. If there would be no green 0 on the wheel you will each have 50% chance (18/36*100) of winning every time since you are betting on 18 of the 36 numbers. But with a green 0 there are now 37 numbers on the roulette and each of you only have 48.64% chance of winning (18/37*100). Although you are allowed to place a bet on 0 is it statistically not profitable in the long term but it is also statistically not profitable to only bet on red or black all the time.
The house always wins in roulette because of the green 0, but you should not be discouraged from playing because of that. Sometimes the wheel needs to spin several hundred times to end up on 0, sometimes it does it twice in a row. This is just the magic of the roulette.
